Clean Refrigerator Coils

Pro Tech Home Inspections – Home Maintenance Tips – Clean Refrigerator Coils

Keep your refrigerator coils clean. It’s common for grease, dust and dirt to collect and stick to the coils behind your fridge. If overlooked for too long this can make the appliance inefficient and even hazardous.

The coils behind your fridge are what keeps it cool, so when they become covered in dust and lint it has to work harder and harder to maintain sufficiently cool temperatures.

The most effective way to clean refrigerator coils is by vacuuming. Simply unplug your fridge, pull it out from the wall and locate the coils. Using your vacuum’s brush attachment clean the dirt away without damaging the coils. Then use a dry cloth to wipe clean any areas you couldn’t reach with the vacuum.
